Greene County’s softball team had a tournament canceled on Saturday due to wet playing conditions, but the Ram baseball team played twice at Carroll Kuemper’s tournament, losing twice in the process.
The first game of the day, a 10-0 loss to Pocahontas Area, saw the Rams’ record just three hits, with one hit each from Nick Breon, Bryce Stadler and Tyler Teeples.
Brandon Hoyle pitched four innings and took the loss. He struck out two batters and walked four. He allowed six hits and seven runs. Three runs were earned.
In the second game, a 13-1 run-rule loss to Kuemper, Austin Delp scored the only run and Breon recorded the Rams’ only hit.
Teeples pitched the first 4-1/3 innings and took the loss. He allowed nine hits and 11 runs, eight of them earned. He struck out two batters and walked three. Joe Carey pitched in relief.
A rough week has put the Rams at 5-16 on the year heading into a game against Nevada on Monday.
